Stages of Group Development Series: Performing

In today’s episode, Carrie shares about the fourth stage of group development: Performing. Performing is an exciting stage; It is where you start seeing the fruit of the work you’ve done with the group up until this point. During this stage, the group starts working showing up for each other. Vulnerability, authenticity, and connection are some of the manifestations of Performing.

More signs of the Performing stage:

  • There’s more self disclosure
  • Members start giving more balanced feedback
  • Trust within the group grows
  • The group spends most of the time in the “here” and “now”
  • The members stop pushing back and start leaning in
